Okaloosa County March Sales Report

March Sales Report for Okaloosa County

Okaloosa County — 24 Miles of White Sugar Shoreline.  Destin, Florida considered the luckiest fishing village in Florida.  Award winning beaches.

263 Homes sold in Okaloossa County in the month of March.  This is an increase of 15% over same period last year.  Year to date totals show that there have been 646 home sales in the county which is a year to date increase of 21%.  Home sales are brisk with the increased presence of our military men and woman relocating to our area at Eglin Airforce Base and Hurlburt Field.

92 Condos/Townhomes sold in the month of March compared to 79 last March.  This too is an increase in local sales by 16%.  Year to date condo sales are up almost 26%.  People love our beaches and buyers are back to spend money on their little piece of paradise.  Nothing better than to own a Gulf Front Condo and wait for the beautiful sunsets and sunrises on a daily basis.

Guess some on also cashing in on getting a lot to build their dream home on.  Lot sales are up 88% year to date.  When we run out of land, we are out of land.  They just are not making any new land these days.

What is my message here?  It is not too late to buy and you will not find a better time to invest.  Interest rates are low.  In fact, a client of mine just cashed in on a 4.125% 15 year loan for his new home.  Wowie, haven’t seen that in a long, long time.

If you are buying a condo, please know that you must have a lot of money down in order to qualify.  One lender I have has a program with only 20% down now, but most will require you to have 25% down at a minimum.

Come for some sun and fun.  Best place to live EVER!  Here are some photos from yesterday’s boat ride in the Harbor.  Enjoy!
