This week we went to the Steamboat Bar and Grill. The original location off of Hwy. 98 in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Our server was the only server on duty. Her name was Apple. She worked the bar and the restaurant and did so with impressive attentiveness and efficiency.
They have a Happy Hour from 3-6 daily. Drink specials with reduced prices. They do not have reduced prices off of any food items. Apple told us that they get their fresh grouper daily from HarborDocks in Destin. You can visit their website here to see the menu.
Chris and I had the mussels for our appetizer and they were excellent. They were loaded with garlic and butter and they came with a side of bread. (Although I would have liked more bread) The fried green beans were also ordered as an appetizer and were shared around the table. They too were good and came with a Wasabi Ranch dressing. For dinner many of us ordered the fresh grouper sandwich which came with fries and coleslaw. Other orders were popcorn shrimp and wings. All reported very tasty food and good portion sizes for the money. Again, unbelievable how hard Apple worked to make our experience a good one.
They have a pool table and a few arcade machines and many televisions for watching sports scattered around the bar. There is an outdoor area for smokers and the only mistake our group made this week was sitting too near this door. The smell of smoke that followed the smokers was not good. Although we did really enjoy sitting at a round table this week. It was much easier to visit with everyone there instead of sitting at one long table. It really brought us all into the conversation. I love round tables!
Chuck was especially entertaining after three Apple Martinis with stories from his childhood and his recent trip to Las Vegas. All in all I would come back to this spot. I rated it 4.2 stars out of 5.
